Successful Deployment of AC102 in TAP Portugal and Aqua Oceanus in Angola.
TAP Portugal is the leading Portuguese airline in operation since 65 years ago and through Tecnet Angola, FingerTec's esteemed distributor in this south-central African country, they have been introduced to FingerTec AC102 to administer their staff’s time attendance. FingerTec AC102 has all the features required and with only fingerprint verification available, the machine is capable to uphold the discipline of staff like never before.

The first installation of the FingerTec AC102 for TAP Portugal was in the delegation in Luanda. The Director of Administrative Services and Finance of TAP Portugal, Mr Aguinelo Sequeira was satisfied with results of the new system after only two months of using it. Following that success, FingerTec AC102 terminals were installed in Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airports for the same purpose.

FingerTec in Angola also made progress with Aqua Oceanus, a company in Luanda that’s offering services in the area of building maintenance, commercial and industrial facilities.

During the first month of the AC102 deployment, the management of Aqua Oceanus was able to detect some discrepancies whereby around 100 employers who are no longer working with the company continue receiving salaries. Aqua Oceanus was consequently impressed with FingerTec’s system and agreed to install the terminals in some other branches.

Tecnet Angola has been working with FingerTec for more than 2 years and so far has secured clients from various industries. View the company website at http://fingertecangola.com/

LTech InforSolutions installs FingerTec For Attendance in Food Factory, Malaysia.
LTech InforSolutions is one of FingerTec newer resellers, who have managed to successfully implement FingerTec solutions within several of their clients. The recent installation was at a food factory, where FingerTec TA103RC; a time attendance device was selected to manage their staff’s attendance.

The client, QL Foods Sdn. Bhd. is the leading manufacturer and distributor of surimi (fish which has been ground to form paste) food products in the Asian region. Their products are exported to various eastern and western countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea as well Canada and the USA.

With an increase in automation of their food processing methods, QL Foods Sdn. Bhd. also welcomed the advancement in technology of FingerTec biometric devices. Their need for a time attendance device is rather essential as in a factory setting, there is much shift and scheduled work which makes it difficult to monitor. With FingerTec Solutions, the availability of the customizable shift time table and work schedule in our TCMS software makes FingerTec biometric devices adaptable at a factory setting. Also, factory workers no longer have to bother about bringing along their fragile swipe cards with them every day as with FingerTec, their fingerprint becomes their new ‘card’ which is flexible, unique, and best of all, always on you.

With the manpower of more than 500 workers, the implementation of FingerTec Solutions in QL Foods Sdn. Bhd. is being done in stages, to ease the transition from manual clocking in, to automated time attendance. The client chose the TA103RC from their reseller, LTech InforSolutions, as it was practical, high in capacity, and contained the relevant functions.

The client is confident about FingerTec because this brand is a good brand that has good customer service. They expect good product features and product stability from a renowned brand in the biometrics industry" announced Mr. Ben Lee Ching Meng, the Managing Director of Ltech InforSolutions.

Kenya's Ministry of Immigration is Now Unlocking Doors Using FingerTec AC900, Kenya.
The National Registration Bureau is a department under the Ministry of Immigration whose main responsibility is the issuance of the National identity cards in Kenya. Previously the doors had a card based system, which the Ministry felt was not secure as firstly, anybody could open any door to the department, and secondly the fact that employees who had been transferred still had access to the department.

The department was then faced with the challenge of unauthorized access and it ran the risk of having the sensitive identity documents that are issued by the department falling into the wrong hands.

To facilitate against these challenges the department decided to install seven FingerTec AC900 Door Access systems. The FingerTec units were installed at the Ministry’s Head Office in Nairobi, across four levels.

The FingerTec units were installed on all the main access points and also along the corridors. Other units were installed on the doors to the production rooms and computer rooms, as access to these two areas are severely restricted. On the FingerTec Time Control and Management Software (TCMS) the system administrator was able to allocate access to only those users who were authorized to enter the two areas.

With the installation of the FingerTec Door Access system The National Registration Bureau department is now able to produce access reports, and in a way, allow us to tie certain events to certain individuals. This has greatly improved the security on its premises, and completely eliminated instances of unauthorized entry.

FingerTec Simplifies Immigration & Identification For SAIME, Venezuela.
Assoc. Coop. Terabyte, our esteemed FingerTec reseller in Venezuela, embarks on a new challenging task this year as they work with a government agency called SAIME. SAIME stands for Servicio Administrativo Identificación, Migración y Extranjería or Administrative Service for Identification and Immigration in English.

As international airports are one of the busiest places in the world, every step should be taken to ensure the security of the area is never compromised. Thanks to FingerTec’s Q2i, the initial installation of fingerprint machines required for access control was a success.

As indicated on their website, http://saime.gob.ve, SAIME’s role is to identify all individuals and control the admission, stay and departure of foreign citizens who are in Venezuelan territory. Being a leading institution nationally and internationally in the area of identification, their main objective is to plan and implement activities aimed at the indubitable identification of natural persons living in the country in accordance with the provisions of the law and the supervision, direction, and control of various activities for the granting of applications for foreign nationals.

National Identification Authority of Ghana Choose R2/R2i, Ghana.
Ghana has recently opened its data centre head office known as National Identification Authority for registration of citizens, non-citizens and residents data and printing of all their national ID cards in the capital Accra. Security of this place is put as priority and the contract has been awarded for installation of CCTV, turnstiles and door access systems for a total of 29 doors to Telecomputer Network Systems, FingerTec distributor in Ghana.

The company is responsible in making sure that all the security aspects of this building are taken care of. At the initial stage, the building is installed with CCTV cameras and external turnstiles followed by installation of R2 and R2i for 19 doors. The rest of the system will be completed in the near future after assessment of the first stage has been carried out.

Resentment from the staff is apparent during the installation period for they do not like to be monitored by the authority at all times. And due to this aspect alone, the schedule of work has been delayed considerably, the circumstance that the company faces a lot in this field of work. However, Telecomputer Network Systems is confident that the systems they provide to the NIA are crucial for such an important data centre.

Telecomputer Network Systems sees future of FingerTec products in Ghana for the technology is still highly sought after by the customers.

RISDA Implements FingerTec in Its Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (RISDA) Building in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur has installed 42 units of R2 and R2i FingerTec readers at their premises early this year.

According to Mr. Nornekman Abdul Razak, Managing Director of CD Integrated Sdn Bhd, the system integrator company that is responsible for the implementation of this project, RISDA was looking for biometrics device mainly for monitoring of the staff attendance.

They were focusing on eliminating ‘buddy-punching’ and tailgating occurrences amongst the employee. Each department needs to generate attendance report and monitor staff movement to achieve this objective. At the same time as well, they have their security issues and they wanted to limit the movements of visitors when they are inside the building.

Recently, RISDA has installed FRIS II centralized data server software to centralize the database storage of multiple FingerTec terminals from 15 departments of around 700 users. With the availability of FRIS II, individual department officers can define their own clocking schedules, edit time attendance data and print their own departmental reports using TCMS V2 software.

As a systems integration and consulting company, CD Integrated Sdn.Bhd. offers tailored-made solutions using the latest technology and key components. With this approach, they are able to bring together vast resources of skill-sets and products to meet the industry demands.

Mr. Nornekman also added that, “we work on the basis of knowing our clients needs. We would definitely promote FingerTec should the requirements or specifications of our clients are in biometrics”.

IKEA in Dominican Republic Chooses FingerTec, Dominican Republic.
In February 2010, IKEA, an international home products retailer that sells flat pack furniture, accessories, bathroom and kitchen items, will be opening its doors to the people of Dominican Republic through its first outlet in Santo Domingo. The good news is, IKEA has chosen FingerTec door access products to control its entire staff access for the whole buildings and this is made possible by FingerTec’s long time partner, E.Threan & Cia.

E.Threan & Cia is a security company in Dominican Republic, offering commercial time attendance and access control solutions. E.Threan & Cia has been a FingerTec partner since 2006 and their services include installation, training, configuration and programming, repairing and maintenance. For this project, E. Threan installs a total of 45 units of R2 and R2i to the entire IKEA complex, complete with the access to elevators. R2 and R2i combination is not only effective in managing the entire staff; it’s also cost effective. In an environment where staff presence is spread, a good monitoring system is required to determine who’s in and who’s out. The reports generated by TCMS v2 would be helpful in managing the outlet.

"We are thrilled to have been chosen for this project. This (project) is a very good start for us this year. Having IKEA in our client list is a good addition to both FingerTec and our company," comments Mr Johan Pena, sales manager, E.Threan & Cia.
